Custom Home Builder in Beverly Hills, MI

The Village of Beverly Hills, Michigan looks closely at how a lot drains, so rainwater from a new home stays off the neighbors' lots. We arrange the levels survey and talk to the village first.

Building In Beverly Hills

Most new homes in Beverly Hills replace an older house on an established street. The village has its own Building Department, and it likes to talk through a project before any plans are handed in.

We work alongside your architect or designer. They lead the design. We help make sure it fits the lot and the village’s rules, keep you informed at every step, and build it with care.

What To Know Before You Build In Beverly Hills

This is what the Village of Beverly Hills itself publishes. Each link goes to the village’s own page, which is the one to rely on.

Permits

The village has its own Building Department. As published, it asks builders to get in touch about the plan for the lot before submitting drawings, and it visits the lot before a permit is issued. The village does not publish a review time, so we will give you a realistic picture when we talk.

Levels And Drainage

The village publishes requirements for how a lot drains. As published, they include a survey of the ground levels by a licensed professional, keeping rainwater off the neighbors’ lots, and a check of the finished levels before move-in. It is careful work, and we look after it as part of the build.

While We Are Building

The village publishes rules for building sites. They are ours to follow, not yours, and they keep the street pleasant for your neighbors. As published, they cover:

  • Working hours, listed as 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Saturday, with no work on legal holidays
  • Enclosing the site with a six-foot fence, with the address posted on it
  • Keeping the street and sidewalk clean, with any mud cleaned up at once
  • Keeping parking and materials off the grass strip beside the road

Taking Down An Old House

Whether a house may come down is the village’s decision for each property. Before work starts, the village’s requirements ask for proof that every utility is disconnected and that the site fence is up, and the village inspects the site. We check with the village for your address and arrange this with you.

Street Trees

The village’s page says the trees beside the road belong to the village and are protected during the build. It also lists a village permit for planting or replacing one. We check with the village before any tree near the road is touched.
